The Domed Greenhouse

The domed greenhouse near the entrance has become a symbol of the HHU botanical garden. It is an unheated greenhouse that is kept at 10–12 °C in winter, providing ideal conditions for plants from regions with warm, dry summers and rainy winters. Visitors get to enjoy a splendid display of flowers from the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands (such as a variety of viper's buglosses) in spring and a collection of exotic plants from faraway lands with striking leaves and fruits all year round.

Its valuable plants match the themes of various collections held at the botanical garden.

Our local gardener and musician Lars Leonhard has produced a video full of fascinating insights, which you may enjoy.
